Stargazing Night - Autumn Celestial Highlights (29-11-2013)

11 students, mostly new-comers, joined our first stargazing night of the year. We sampled the best of the autumn sky, including two amazing open clusters (Perseus Double Cluster, ET cluster), a colourful double star (Almack, with the greenish-blue secondary) and the most famous galaxy M31 (Andromeda Galaxy). As the winter objects began to rise, we also observed the most famous Messier objects in the region: M45 (Pleiades, the Seven Sisters) and M42 (The Great Nebula of Orion). We left when Jupiter just began to rise from the horizon - we'll save that for our next activity!
