Partial Lunar Eclipse Observation (16-8-2008)

Have you ever seen a red moon? A few members went to Tai Tong to see and photograph this magnificent phenomenon. Although clouds rolled in from time to time, there were sufficient gaps to reveal the eclipsed moon. We also used a 10-inch reflector for enjoying a number of famous objects, including M4 globular cluster, double double, M7 Ptolemy cluster, Albireo, Jupiter, M57 the ring nebula and, of course, the moon. Many of us saw M57 for the first time, and this donut-shaped planetary nebula was undoubtedly one of the most unique objects in the sky.
